I can only remember my mom playing with me one time, that would have to be my favorite memory. She played Barbies with us and we rode all over the kitchen using slippers for speedboats.

I always loved music, so I was constantly putting on records and playing D-Jay. One time, the song Sad Eyes came on – my mom was running the vacuum. She loved Sad Eyes. She came into the living room, where I was playing D-Jay. She drags the vacuum into the room and starts singing the song into the hose – VERY DRAMATICALLY – nostrils flaring, arms flying all over and all – I completely fell apart laughing. I think I was between 8 and 10 years old. Nowadays I just have to say “Sad Eyes” and we start laughing and mom looks all embarrassed because of course I have to tell the story!

I don’t have many happy memories of childhood – so it’s hard to answer and I’ve had to think long and hard. I guess I’d say my best memory is of her making us homemade fried dough. Sounds sad when I write it out, that I don’t have more or better memories… but honestly I can’t remember anything happy going on.

My mom was a lot older than most of the other moms but she was pretty hip and cool. My fave memory is of her in our den (complete with black and white shag carpet and a mirrored disco ball hanging from the ceiling!) teaching me and my friends the hustle!

    My memories growing up:
Mom taught me how to play hop-scotch, gin rummy and to enjoy life, she would read to me, we would laugh at jokes no matter how corny, she helped me build a barbie house made out of card board boxes and cardboard furnature, we had so much fun. she would make homemade pies and cakes every Sunday or when company is comming, the house smelled so wonderful, esspecially at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter with all the spices.
I remember for Mother’s day when i was 10yrs old, going out to the garden and picking tulips, and decided to plant them in a pail filled with dirt, I also made a homeade card with glitter saying ‘ Happy Mother’s Day! I Love You Mom’,
i handed the arrangment to mom and she had the biggest grin on her face.
she said, ‘homeade presents are far better than store bought ones, because they are made with love.’
Mom is a gracious lady, she never judge people or make snide remarks, she just has nothing but pur love for everyone, so, everyone she meets just adores her.
My Mom will be 90 in 3 weeks, and she is still a full of pep and a sharp mid.
My sister is throwing a birthday party for her and so far 100 of her friends and aquaintances are comming and 25 family members. I am flying up to see her, she will be so happy.
